Silent and secretive, robust mole salamanders are mysterious creatures more abundant than most people realize. They spend most of their lives hidden under fallen leaves and in the forest soil. This time of year, they’re on the move from their winter homes to the wetlands, where they mate and lay eggs. We’ll explore their habitats in hopes of seeing one!
