Gentle, Efficient, Backyard Pollinators: Solitary Bees

Join us for a presentation on the Mason bee, one of the many solitary bee species native to North America. These gentle, less-aggressive bees are terrific if you are looking to help save the pollinators in a low maintenance, safe and kid/pet friendly manner.

Douglas and Susan Rose, Gorman Heritage Farm volunteers and amazing backyard homesteaders, will share their knowledge about the care and life cycle of the amazing mason bees that thoroughly pollinate spring-flowering trees, fruit trees, and plants. In addition, they will provide guidance on raising mason bees in your own backyard, including creating the best habitat for them to thrive in.
