Bryozoans, Brachiopods, Crinoids…..Oh My! You may not realize it, but outside of our region, it is very rare to find fossils that are over 440 million years old. We are lucky to have places where you can easily find the relics of the Ordovician period right here in Hamilton County and Women Sharing the Outdoors (WSO) is happy to offer a hands-on, educational program for women.

Although this public park has onsite informational signage, we have a volunteer with Dry Dredgers, an association of amateur geologists, to provide a 30 minute educational session on fossils and answer all of your questions regarding local geology. Participants will then hunt the hillside for individual fossils to take home if desired. Expect lots of bending over and kneeling to find fossils.
