Regional Climate Collaborative Leadership Committee Application

Thank you for your interest in serving on Green Umbrellaโ€™s Regional Climate Collaborative Leadership Committee. This committee is intended to be an informative and directional body, using the diverse experiences and expertise of Committee Members to advise on the strategies and tactics of Green Umbrellaโ€™s Regional Climate Collaborative programming. Committee Members will work with Green Umbrella staff and board to identify priorities and help our region become more resilient and equitable.

Leadership Committee Members are asked to serve a 2-year term. Meetings are quarterly and in-person at the Green Umbrella offices in the Digital Futures Building in Avondale (specific meeting dates and times will be determined based on the Committee Membersโ€™ availability).ย 

Anticipated Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 1.5 hours per quarterly meeting
  • 2-3 hours per month for attending events, networking, and research (to be determined by the Memberโ€™s schedule and potential subcommittees)

Who should apply to serve on the Leadership Committee:

  • Local government staff (no elected officials)
  • Frontline community organization representatives
  • Greater Cincinnati community members interested in participating in climate work
  • Greater Cincinnati Youth (ages 14-22)
  • Greater Cincinnati business representatives
  • Greater Cincinnati educators (K-12, university, trade)
  • Seasoned climate and sustainability professionals (currently working or retired)

Other items to note:

  • Applicants must live within Green Umbrellaโ€™s 10-county region (Boone Co. KY; Butler Co. OH; Campbell Co. KY; Clermont Co. OH; Dearborn Co. IN; Franklin Co. KY; Grant Co. KY; Hamilton Co. OH; Kenton Co. KY; Warren Co. OH)
  • No experience with Green Umbrella or climate work is necessary. If you are passionate about making the region a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable place to live, you are welcome to participate.
  • Applicants with diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and work/educational history are encouraged to apply.
  • Elected officials are not eligible to join the Leadership Committee. If you are an elected leader interested in working with Green Umbrella, please consider joining our โ€œEquipping Elected Officials Working Groupโ€ or contact our Senior Director of Programs and Climate Strategy, Van Sullivan, at van@greenumbrella.org for information on ways to get involved.ย
