Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit Planning Committee Application
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Midwest Sustainability Summit Planning Committee. The Committee is composed of Green Umbrella staff, representatives from our partner organizations that co-host the event, and interested individuals. Advancing diversity and inclusion among our Committee members is a priority and we seek representation from our target stakeholder groups (business, non-profit, local government, education, and community leaders).ย
Committee Members are asked to serve a 3-year term, with at least two new Members each year, to preserve institutional knowledge and invite new perspectives.ย
Responsibilities and expectations:
- Attend monthly planning meetings from September through June (virtual)
- Provide input on the Summit format, messaging, and content
- Share event marketing and promotionsย
- Join a sub-committee to help with a specific aspect of the event (ie. programming, arts, outreach, etc.)
- Attend the Summit (in-person)
Anticipated Time Commitment:
- 2-3 hours per month for most of the planning period
- Depending on the designated sub-committee, there could be an additional 10-15 hours during the one or two months when that sub-committee is most active
Monthly planning meetings are on the second Friday of each month from 11am-12:30pm. Additional sub-committee meetings are scheduled as needed based on team availability.ย
