Winter Sowing Edible Companion Plants
January 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
$10

Winter Sowing is an easy, low-cost gardening method of planting seeds in recycled containers during winter, creating a mini-greenhouse for them. The seeds experience natural cold and moisture before sprouting in spring, eliminating the need for grow lights and hardening off seedlings.
Our Agriculture Specialist will teach the winter sowing method and common pitfalls to avoid. We’ll also learn why certain seeds are paired together and how they benefit each other as companion plants. Then, we’ll plant seeds together and you’ll take home some ready-to-go winter sown seeds of your own!
Each participant will sow two jugs and choose up to 4 varieties from the following seeds: Kale, Beets, Dill, Oregano, Chamomile, Chives.
