This is the first forum in Faith Communities Go Green’s 2025 series on broadening our advocacy beyond elected officials.

Discovering new paths for green energy in Ohio.
Speaker: Brent Boyd, CEO, Solclusion
Via Zoom
Tuesday, May 20, 2025
7:00-8:30 pm

The Ohio Legislature is overhauling state energy policy with two goals: increasing the supply and reliability of electricity and trying to keep it affordable. Electrical engineer Brent Boyd, one of Ohio’s leading solar entrepreneurs, will alert us to influential supporters of renewable energy. He will outline the “green+ green” case that green energy solutions reduce operating expenses as well as protecting the environment.

Brent Boyd is the CEO of Solclusion Energy Group in Cincinnati, Chief Technology Officer for Global Energy Matters (GEM) in Columbus, and Co-Founder and Shareholder in Solar Powerand Light (SP&L) in Miamisburg. Solclusion is a vertically-integrated solar and EV charging infrastructure development company. GEM is a humanitarian consultancy and developer providing energy solutions to support clean water, education, health, and economic development.

Over his four-decade career, Brent has designed and led projects throughout North America and Europe, and implemented solar projects for industry, municipalities, schools, universities, and nonprofits. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including The Ohio State University Extension Service, Green Energy Ohio, and Drive Electric Dayton. He is a member of Refreshing Springs Church of God in West Chester, a congregation whose stewardship includes solar power. He holds a BSCEE from Purdue in computer and electrical engineering, and an MBA from Case Western in finance and strategy. He graduated from Archbishop Alter High School in Dayton.
