Orienteering 101 & Challenge Course for Women

About This Event:
Fall is a great time to learn the basics of this fun activity. Less leaves to see better through the woods, hiking without the sweat and pesky insects plus it has the feel of a treasure hunt.
This Women Sharing the Outdoors (WSO) event occurs on Saturday, November 11 at the Girl Scout Camp Butterworth in Butler County at 8551 Butterworth Road, Maineville, OH, 45039. Participants are provided a short instructional session from our event partner, Orienteering Cincinnati (OCIN), and will learn how to identify features on a map and how to orient a map while hiking. Choose to do a course alone or with a buddy/small group. Maps are provided for each course: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The map has points noted on it where controls are placed for you to find.
The sport of Orienteering includes being timed for completing the courses but our WSO participants can choose not to be timed. No running shoes are needed! More than one course is available for you after completing the first one.
There is a $15 per person non-refundable fee.
