Nature Mindfulness

Intended Audience: This program is designed for adults. However, interested youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.
Program Description: Reclaim your attention and elevate your happiness! Nature is a “natural” happy place for many of us. This class will introduce you to a simple mindfulness technique. You’ll learn how to harness the beauty of nature to intentionally cultivate positive feeling and boost your awareness in the present moment. Past attendance at a prior CNC nature mindfulness class will be helpful but is not required. All are welcome.
Spending time in nature and mindfulness practice have similar and wonderful benefits. Stress levels go down, and calm and concentration go up—just to name a few!
About the Guide: Leslie Hanna is a Certified Mindfulness Coach with thousands of hours of training in a variety of modalities including yoga and mind-body medicine. She has practiced yoga and meditation for over 20 years.
What to Expect: We will likely be sitting or standing for periods of time, as well as walking. The walk will take place entirely outdoors on the trails and will be approximately 1/2 mile (no more than 1 mile total). Beginners and experienced meditators alike are welcome.
How to Dress: We’ll be seated or out on the trails and moving slowly. Please dress for the weather and in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort. This program runs rain or shine.
What to Bring: Consider bringing your own lightweight camp chair or a sit-upon (jacket, towel, etc.)
Where to Park and Meet: Program registrants will meet at Fernwood Shelter at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd., Milford, OH 45150).
