Meet a Greenspace Hiking Series: Creek Walk at the Earl and Hazel Jones Center for Conservation
August 16, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
FreeGreen Umbrella’s Greenspace Alliance is holding their Meet a Greenspace Hike at the Earl and Hazel Jones Center for Conservation on Friday, August 16th from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. with the Boone County Conservation District (BCCDKY).
This 92-acre property located in Burlington, KY was recently acquired by BCCDKY and is used for conservation education and research. The Center is home to forested hiking trails, a vernal pond, access to beautiful Gunpowder Creek, and the ruins of the Crisler-Gulley grist mill, which was built in 1817.
At this event, we will hike a 1.5-mile trail that loops through the field and along the creek. Please wear sturdy shoes for walking over stumps and rocks and bring creek shoes (closed-toe shoes required) if you want to cool off and get your feet wet!
Address: 2588 Camp Ernst Lane, Burlington, KY 41005 (drive to the very end of the one-lane road).
Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
If you have questions or need assistance on the day of the event, contact Greenspace Alliance Manager Claire Carlson at claire@greenumbrella.org.
