Hands on History: Atlatl Making
For millennia, people have extended their reach and power with ingenious tools like atlatls, woomeras, and other spear-throwers. In this hands-on history workshop, participants will craft their own versions, learning how different cultures designed these tools to maximize leverage, distance, and accuracy. We’ll explore the science and artistry behind projectile technology, and what these devices reveal about human innovation and hunting strategies across the globe. Join us for an interactive, skill-building session that puts ancient engineering and athleticism in your hands.
Open to all ages 14 and Up. (18 and younger will need guardian approval). Waivers required. The age restriction is due to usage of heat/fire, sharp objects, and materials that could burn and/or stain skin and clothing
