Green Drinks with Green Umbrella

Join us on Thursday, August 8th for an evening of informal networking at Somerset OTR’s outdoor garden area (assuming the weather cooperates – otherwise, we’ll be inside).
This month’s Green Drinks celebrates the work of our climate fellows and directly follows the 2024 Climate Action Fellows Showcase (3:00-5:00 at Digital Futures), where our three fellows and local government leaders will share how they led their communities in starting and growing their climate action planning process and projects. About Somerset OTR:
Lost Hospitality, Somerset’s parent company, is carbon neutral with goals of being net carbon positive – upon founding Lost Hospitality and Somerset they had 10,000 mangrove trees planted in Madagascar and Indonesia, with having committed to having at least 1000 more planted annually as the company grows to scale.
The service industry can be wasteful but they do all they can to combat this, from being diligent about reducing waste, reusing and recycling, to buying from clean energy suppliers, avoiding single use plastics as much as possible. They also try to use a farm-to-table approach – they grow as many ingredients as they can for cocktails on their rooftop garden that supplies fresh flowers, herbs and some vegetables seasonally that are used in their infused spirits, cocktails and garnishes.
