April Green Drinks with Green Umbrella & the Cincinnati Zoo

Green Umbrella invites you to our April Green Drinks. This month, we are thrilled to partner with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden – the Greenest Zoo in America®! Join us for drinks, networking, and a presentation – then enjoy their Earth Day Tunes & Blooms celebration!
Green Drinks attendees will have an opportunity to see the new Elephant Trek and hear from zoo staff about their latest sustainability projects, which include:
- Their new five-acre elephant habitat that features a million-gallon capacity stormwater tanks – and their goal to be net zero in water consumption!
- Their new hydroponics system that has grown more than 8,000 pounds of produce – enough to supply the giraffe feeding program!
- Their new 2.8 MW solar array – which boosts their on-site electricity generation to about ⅔ of all their electricity needs!
- Inspiring community solar projects and zero waste events!
The zoo is open to the public, but we have limited space available for the exclusive Green Drinks program. Please register to secure your spot (and to receive more details as we get closer to the event).
The program will run from 5:15-6:00, after which we will head over to join the Earth Day Celebration, featuring:
- Interactive stations hosted by their Horticulture, Sustainability, Conservation Impact, and Education teams, where you can learn how the Zoo helps the planet through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
- Live music by My Brother’s Keeper
- Beautiful spring blooms
- Great food and drink (for purchase)
Admission is free after 5pm (but parking is $10). Outdoor wildlife habitats are open until dusk and indoor habitats until 8pm.
