2025 Local Government Climate Action Showcase

Join Green Umbrella for the 2025 Local Government Climate Action Showcase from 3:30-5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20th at the UC Digital Futures Building (3080 Exploration Avenue)! Featuring the City of Newport KY, City of Milford OH, City of Oxford OH, City of Fairfield OH and Hamilton County OH.

Hear from our seven fellows and local government leaders about how they led their communities in starting and growing their climate action planning process and projects. They will cover the following topics and more:

• Climate Budgeting & Procurement
• Creating a Climate/Sustainability Action Plan
• Engaging Communities
• Community Wealth Building
• Conducting Capacity and Needs Assessments (including climate risk data collection and analysis)
• Tailored Projects related to data & metrics,  green infrastructure, storm water management, and energy benchmarking

Green Umbrella will share opportunities that any community can embrace to take next steps to prepare their community for environmental change and access funding to improve infrastructure, build community resilience, and save money.

There will also be networking time to connect with the fellowship participants, other government leaders, and community partners to learn how your community can take next steps.

The event will conclude with a reception with local beers and refreshments!
