Join us on July 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th for some sustainable crafting fun!

July 8th will be a natural dye workshop. Discover the art and science of natural dyeing in this beginner’s workshop! Participants will learn the fundamentals of transforming plant material and kitchen scraps into beautiful, lasting dye. During the program, participants will learn about the materials needed for natural dyeing and walk through the essential three-step fabric preparation process that helps dyes bond to fiber. Participants will observe the process of extracting color from natural materials and learn how different plants create a wide range of hues.

July 15th will be creating your very own suncatcher using natural and recycled materials. This series highlights the possibilities of creating something new with donated and upcycled materials. We will use recycled materials to bring new life and purpose to them.

July 22nd will be a beginner watercolor class! Explore the joy of watercolor painting in this beginner-friendly workshop taught by Jayne Kennedy. Participants will learn basic watercolor techniques while creating nature-inspired artwork in the peaceful setting of Gorman Heritage Farm. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.

July 29th will be a slow stitch whimsical love bird. Discover the calming, creative world of slow stitching in this instructor-led, 2-hour workshop. Slow stitching is a meditative hand-sewing practice that uses bits of fabric, ribbon, lace, buttons, trims, and other upcycled or salvaged materials to create expressive textile art. It’s all about enjoying the process, embracing imperfection, and taking time to make something with your hands.
