July 31st โ€“ Green Umbrella brought together our leading members and major donors to connect with innovators and influencers who are helping us create a more resilient, equitable, and thriving region.

Over drinks and a lovely spread of appetizers from Goosefoot Cook and Grow, a caterer who sources amazing local foodโ€ฆ the evening was filled with exciting transportation innovations from around the country, lots of networking, and collaborative relationships in the making.

Here is just a taste of the eveningโ€ฆ

Cincinnati Metro CEO, Darryl Haley and the new Senior Director of Bus Rapid Transit shared the exciting details of the launch of our cityโ€™s first bus rapid transit system. Including:

  • Limited stops & faster travel.
  • Smart traffic signals (signal prioritization).
  • Bus-only lane and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Same-level boarding.
  • Off-board payment.
  • Reduces congestion and pollution.

Metro anticipates a significant reduction in congestion and pollution along the routes and throughout the city, in addition to economic growth along key transit corridors.

Columbus, Ohio Dedicates $100 Million in Pedestrian and Bike Paths

Robotaxis Launch Across the Country

Atlanta is testing a new 250 robotaxi program. These vehicles have the potential to reduce both accidents and traffic congestion, lessening emissions from cars in the process. Similar programs are currently serving passengers in Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
