Archeology Includes Everyone: Exploring the People of Our Past

Join the Sierra Club Miami Group’s Educational Forum for an expedition to the Archeological Research Institute (ARI) 10 AM, September 20, 2025. Participants in this ARI event will meet at their location on 126 West High St., Lawrenceburg, Ind. (a half hour drive from Cincinnati) where Program Director Samy Norris will give us an introduction to archaeology and the work of ARI. We will then be divided into groups and shuttled to current excavation sites in the Ohio River Basin (Carriage House Farm and/or Lost Bridge Brewing Company). We will work alongside ARI’s field research team exploring the world of experimental archaeology through different research projects. Participants will be shuttled back to their cars in approximately 2 hours.

The event will be mostly outdoors and will occur rain or shine, so please dress for the weather and for bugs. A donation of $10 per person is requested for ARI.
