Sustainability Spotlights

US Government's Preeminent Climate Assessment Is Complete

Illness, expenses, and livelihoods lost - the new National Climate Assessment paints a rough picture of the climate crisis. Mandated by Congress and released every 5 years, this report analyzes how climate change affects those living in America. This newest report also addresses historical and social factors that previous National Climate Assessments lacked, including acknowledgement that communities of color are more negatively affected by fossil fuel pollution. Volunteers Needed for Autumn Orchard Installations

Fall is installation season for the Common Orchard Project, and you can be a part of it! Volunteer on one of the upcoming planting days - November 16, 18, and 29 - to learn how to plant trees, fruit tree care, and meet neighbors who care as much as you do. All tools and gloves provided, just bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty (don't forget the close-toed shoes!). We will have locally-grown fruit and other snacks. Click the link here to register to volunteer.
