EPA Sets First-Ever National Standard to Limit PFAS in Drinking Water |
|
|
The Environmental Protection Agency announced new drinking water standards to limit exposure to PFAS, or “forever chemicals” - man-made chemicals used since the 1940s to waterproof and stainproof products. |
“This is a crucial first step towards protecting public health and ensuring safe and clean drinking water for all Ohioans. We look forward to continuing to work with agency leaders to establish safeguards for the entire class of PFAS chemicals,” said Melanie Houston, Managing DIrector of Water Policy for the Ohio Environmental Council.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will test a new technology Purdue University researchers developed that can provide power to electric vehicles wirelessly as they drive past. |
Purdue researchers and state officials hope the project will open up EVs to a wider customer base, largely by reducing battery costs and quelling concerns over range anxiety—the fear that an electric vehicle will run out of juice before reaching its destination.

Participate in UC’s Residential Energy Study
The University of Cincinnati is recruiting participants into a study on home energy retrofit planning. The study includes several paid opportunities (surveys, interviews, workshops) and the potential to receive a free home energy audit. The study is run by an interdisciplinary team of engineers and social scientists who are interested in gathering Cincinnati residents’ perspectives. We are looking for adults (18+ years old) who speak English and live within Cincinnati city limits. You don't have to be a homeowner to participate in the study, and they are especially looking to engage with BIPOC and low-income Cincinnati residents.
