Green Umbrella is partnering with Net Impact University of Cincinnati's consulting branch, Metamorphosis, on a Circular Strategy workshop to approach waste streams reductions through circularity. Green Umbrella members are invited to join for a free, in-person workshop on April 11 at 12:00pm to learn about their circularity framework and how to apply it to your own business or organization to drive success in sustainability initiatives. This workshop will cover an overview of different waste streams and then focus specifically on cardboard. Register here.

This is a pilot workshop as part of a potential circularity series. We’d love to hear from you about what your organization's waste stream priorities are. Please fill out this survey to help inform future offerings. |

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Installs New Set of Solar Panels
This past month, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden broke ground on a new set of solar panels above the parking lot on Euclid Avenue in Avondale. "When this project comes online, around two-thirds of our power will come from our parking lots, and in 2030, 2032 will be 100%", said Mark Fisher, the VP of Facilities & Sustainability at Cincinnati Zoo.
| |
"It's equivalent to planting 66,000 tree seedlings and letting that grow for ten years and doing that every year with the solar rays in operation for the next 30 years," said Seth Parker, with Green Umbrella member Melink Solar. On track to become the first fully net-zero zoo in the country, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical is the greenest zoo in America.
