Bruce is transitioning to retirement after a 40-plus year career. He was founder and President of Berno Financial Management, Inc., an independent, fee-only personal financial planning and investment advisory firm for over 28 years. He transitioned the firm to Creative Planning in 2021 where he was a Managing Director and continues as a Practice Development consultant. Prior to that, he worked for United Telephone Co., Fifth Third Bank and U.S. Bank. A native of Mansfield, Ohio, he is a graduate of Miami University and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Xavier University.
Bruce has been an environmental stewardship enthusiast from an early age, starting by picking up trash in the storm ditch and woods across from his childhood home. He is a zealot about energy efficiency and recycling. A lover of the outdoors, he launched a philanthropy program entitled “Trees In Gratitude” where he and student volunteers planted over 400 shade trees in 14 non-profit locations in Anderson Township and Newtown, Ohio.
Having been engrained in community service at an early age, Bruce serves on Boards or Committees for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI), the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Cincinnati), Social Venture Partners (where he coached the Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Center) and the Anderson Township Tree Committee. Bruce and his wife are blessed with 3 adult children and multiple grandchildren, all of whom live in Cincinnati.
