Get Outside for Fun & Stewardship During Great Outdoor Weekend!

Join over 10,000 outdoor enthusiasts for free, fun, family-friendly activities next weekend during the 16th annual Great Outdoor Weekend, September 28-29! Explore the tri-state while choosing from nearly 100 activities, like hiking and butterfly banding. All events are made possible by our generous sponsors, the Cincinnati Wildflower Preservation Society, CET, METRO, Cincinnati Family Magazine and several others.

Need another reason to get outside during Great Outdoor Weekend? National Public Lands Day, the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort, is Saturday, September 28. Intended to celebrate the connection between people and greenspace, National Public Lands Day encourages us to be good stewards of our natural resources.

Run the Riffles with Mill Creek Alliance!

Celebrate the Mill Creek while supporting the Mill Creek Alliance at Run the Riffles on September 28. Join the competitive Mill Creek Mile Fun Run on the Mill Creek Greenway Trail or the Mill Creek Mile Fun Paddle, a kayak race between two former low-head dams surrounding Salway Park. In addition to an afternoon urban hike and stream adventure, the event includes a full day festival with local food trucks, beer from local breweries and a keynote. End the day with a “Space Walk” on the Mill Creek Greenway Trail, part of Great Outdoor Weekend

Cincinnati Joins the Global Climate Strike

Millions of people across the globe will walk out of school and work as part of the Global Climate Strike, September 20-27. The strike comes ahead of the UN Climate Action Summit on September 23. In Cincinnati, a Climate Strike rally is slated for noon on Friday, September 20 at City Hall. The rally kicks off Ohio's “Week for Future,” coordinated by the Ohio Climate Strike and the Young Activists Coalition.  Can’t join the strike in person? You can still get involved.
