Welcome Ryan Mooney-Bullock, New Addition to Green Umbrella!

We are happy to announce that Ryan Mooney-Bullock has joined the Green Umbrella team as the new Communications and Program Manager. Ryan brings a strong background in environmental education and communication, as well as a passion for sustainable issues. She will begin in September and can be reached at ryan@greenumbrella.org.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Health Impact Project. The Health Impact Project offers funding to communities and organizations seeking to promote the consideration of health in policy and decision-making. They'll be awarding at least four grants of up to $100,000 for health impact assessments in select states (Kentucky is eligible). Deadline is Sept. 15. Click here for more information.

WORKSHOP: Project Management Basics. Interact for Health and SC Ministry Foundation will offer Project Management Basics from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Interact for Health Conference Center. Learn how to plan and manage projects in this introductory, interactive class that includes conflict management tips. Click here for more information.

CONFERENCE: Student Sustainability Leaders Conference. Sponsored by the Hanley Sustainability Institute, Student Sustainability Leaders: Networking Our Future is a student-run, student-centric conference celebrating undergraduate and graduate contributions to the interdisciplinary field of sustainability. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23,  at the University of Dayton River Campus. Click here for more information.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Clif Bar Family Foundation.The Clif Bar Family Foundation is accepting applications for its fall 2017 Small Grants program. Grants of up to $7,000 will be awarded in support of projects that address the foundation's priorities from a holistic perspective. Priority will be given to projects that aim to protect the earth's beauty and bounty; create robust, healthy food systems; increase opportunities for outdoor activity; reduce environmental health hazards; and/or build stronger communities. Deadline is Oct. 1. Click here for more information. 

CONFERENCE: Ohio EPA Sustainability Conference.Ohio EPA will host its first sustainability conference on Tuesday, Oct. 3. This conference is targeted to businesses and communities that are moving beyond basic environmental requirements into cost-effective sustainable strategies to improve environmental performance and save valuable resources.Please note this conference is for officials and organization representatives from Ohio. Click here for more information.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Whole Kids Foundation. 
The Whole Kids Foundation, in partnership with FoodCorps, is accepting applications for its School Garden Grant Program.The annual program is designed to support school garden projects designed to help students learn about complex topics such as nutrition and health, sustainability and conservation, food systems, and community awareness. Deadline for applications is Oct. 31; more information here.
