Become a Transit Friendly Destination! 

Green Umbrella’s Transportation Action Team is excited to announce that applications are now open to become part of our 2018-2019 Cohort of Transit Friendly Destinations!

A Transit Friendly Destination practices social and environmental responsibility by integrating transit into the organization’s culture. Any business, government agency, or other organization that actively promotes transit ridership for employees, customers and guests can apply to become a Transit Friendly Destination. Learn how to apply and the benefits of transit and biking for employees. Applications for this round of certification are being accepted until March 23. The top scorer will be recognized at the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit on June 15.

High Performance Homes Expo

Green Umbrella’s Energy Action Team is co-hosting the High Performance Homes Expo on March 15 at the Sharonville Convention Center. The event will launch the Green MLS features form, which allows homeowners and real estate agents to track the energy efficiency and other green improvements to residential properties.

The initiative intends to build data around the increased sale value resulting from such improvements. The Expo is open to everyone and will feature demonstrations of the latest green technology and national and regional speakers. Register online.

Taking Root is hosting the 5th Annual Great Tree Summit on Saturday, 2/24 from 9:00 am - noon. Come celebrate and learn about trees and community involvement! Interact for Health is hosting Managing the Human Side of Organizational Changeon 3/6, 9:00 am – noon. This interactive session examines the difference between external change and the internal transition related to change. It will identify organizational and individual strategies to foster resilience during rapid change. 

The Nellie Leaman Taft Foundation is accepting proposals for grants related to the environment. Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000 for projects starting in the fall of 2018 or later. Preliminary Applications are due 4/10. Learn more on Ignite Philanthropy's web site.
