Engage With the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan

The Office of Environment & Sustainability is introducing CitizenLab—the Green Cincinnati Plan’s Home for Engagement.

CitizenLab is an interactive platform where every Cincinnatian can view the progress of active collaborative projects related to the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan. Some of the projects are open for community members to provide feedback by contributing ideas, commenting on proposals, voting on and prioritizing projects, and take surveys.

Updates from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27)

At the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Egypt, leaders and advocates from around the world came together to establish strategies and agreements to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. There were climate wins at the conference, but challenges as well. Read more here for highlights of the conference results. 

The COP27 meeting demonstrated the significance of everyday changes to slow down a warming planet, and Green Umbrella's Climate Action is making environmental strides in the region. Visit the Climate Action website for more information on projects in process.

Professional Opportunities

The Greater Cincinnati Regional Food Policy Council is accepting applications to serve as a Council Member for terms starting in February 2023. Inform the way our regional food system grows and collaborate with other resident leaders! The application deadline is December 31.

USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) is providing $200M in assistance to producers for obtaining or renewing a food safety certification in calendar years 2022 and 2023. The application deadline is January 31, 2023.

Miami University & the Cincinnati Zoo are accepting applications for their 2023 Advanced Inquiry master's degree program (begins May 2023). 

The City of Cincinnati is offering mini-grants to support urban agriculture. Funds are available for agricultural production and growing sites as well as aggregation distribution sites. The application deadline is December 1.

The Civic Garden Center is hosting a 11 week Community Garden Development Training Wednesday evenings (6:00-8:00pm) from January through April and are free to anyone interested.
