Sustainability Spotlights

First Green Drinks of 2023 at Element Eatery

Join us for our first Green Drinks happy hour of 2023 at Element Eatery in Madisonville on Thursday, March 9 from 5:00-7:00 pm!

Join Green Umbrella and sustainability leaders across the region at this new food hall, which is home to a collection of local restaurants and a 48-tap beer garden and bar. Invite your colleagues, friends, and family to an informal evening of networking in a spacious and beautiful environment.

Make Your Voice Heard on the Federal Farm Bill

The federal Farm Bill, which has a major impact on the regional food system, is up for reauthorization this year. Congressional Committees focused on Agriculture and Nutrition are calling for marker bill submissions by March 15, 2023. Marker bills signal policy ideas, gather support for particular issues, and may be added onto other legislation, like the Farm Bill. Congressional members can still show support even if they aren’t on the Agriculture and Nutrition Committees by sponsoring bills, and you can advocate for them to do so by contacting your congressional members today. Over 18 Million Trail Miles Traveled in 2022

Tri-State Trails measures how many people use Cincinnati regional trails on a daily average and how many miles traveled on trails annually. After a surge in 2020 during the pandemic, Tri-State Trails reports that 2022 showed growth over pre-pandemic years. As detailed in a recent blog post, Tri-State Trails recorded a daily average of 286 people and over 18 million miles of trails traveled in 2022.
