A message from the Director:

Happy New Year, Cincinnati 2030 District! We welcome a new year to roll up our sleeves and make even more progress in 2022. The Bengals' recent win and trip to the Super Bowl provides inspiration for us all: a team setting a goal and working closely to achieve it. Our community is capable of the same success. What if this year we looked at our goals -- reducing energy, upgrading lighting, enacting policies to support sustainability -- and pushed as hard as possible to achieve them? Our 2030 District could blow past our goals, which will help us build a stronger more sustainable and attractive region. We are already off to a great start. Who Dey!

- Elizabeth Rojas, Cincinnati 2030 District

Member Spotlight: VA Medical Center

This spring, General Services Administration (GSA) will issue an RFP for electrical suppliers to bid on supplying the Cincinnati VA Medical Center with electricity that comes from 100% Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). Going from 20% RECs to 100% RECs will allow the Cincinnati VA to claim a reduction of 14,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

The Cincinnati VA currently has two Battery or All-Electric Vehicles (BEVs). With new car charging stations, the facility will receive 11 BEVs and 4 Plug-in Hybrid EVs (PHEV) leased from GSA. Next year, they plan to obtain about the same number of BEVs and PHEVs. The vehicles that charge at the Cincinnati campus will be zero emissions due to the RECs purchased.

There is so much happening in the 2030 District community right now!
