A Word from the Director

In the midst of the pandemic, the Cincinnati 2030 District continues to be committed to supporting our community and sharing resources. While our immediate needs are shifting to creating safe workplaces, public spaces and classrooms, our goals as a district remain as important as ever. As we navigate how to provide safety within our buildings, we have a unique opportunity to look for ways of improving them. We are here to help you navigate these very difficult times and will continue to share the expertise of our partners.

Member / Partner Spotlight: Welcome to Art Climb!

At a main entrance to Eden Park, Cincinnati Art Museum's Art Climb now opens the hillside and the museum to the surrounding neighborhood and city. The concrete and stone are more than just steps, they are an art experience and a community placemaking asset.

The opening of the Art Climb was timely, affording the public a safe way interact with nature and art during COVID. It has already become a favorite gathering spot for strolling and for health enthusiasts to run the stairs. Programmable LED lights add to the sense of wonder as the art stations await procured sculpture and small performances.

Art Climb is Phase 1 of a site master plan that will eventually add more art and accessible pathways across the hillside, enabling the museum grounds to be enjoyed by visitors of all abilities.

This project shines a light on the power of collaboration between Cincinnati 2030 District members and partners. We look forward to many more member success stories to come.

The Cincinnati Art Museum commissioned emersion DESIGN, Human Nature and Strand Associates for architecture, landscape and civil design. Turner Construction was the General Contractor.
