Land Steward \nGeneral introduction to the Oxbow Nature Conservancy and education on the importance of wetlands. \nJune 17 | The First Farmers: The Adena Culture\nLed by ARI \nLearn about early plant use and the transition to farming during the Early Woodland period on a scenic walk along the trail. \nJuly 15 | Osprey Lake Scavenger Hunt\nLed by Oxbow Inc. \nFamily friendly hike through the Osprey Lake Trail (1.3 miles\, easy). Join us for the Give a Hoot for Oxbow – Invasive Plant Removal on Saturday\, July 18  from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM\n\nDuring these volunteer days\, we will be tackling one of our biggest conservation challenges: invasive plant species. Events will focus on cutting/pulling honeysuckle\, Japanese chaff flower\, Japanese stiltgrass\, and garlic mustard- all of which will later be replaced with native plants\, with a focus on improving wood duck habitat! Follow the gravel road to the parking area ahead.\n\n\n\n\nBring your favorite tools if you have them (we will only have a limited amount of tools for volunteers to utilize\, so feel free to bring your favorite loppers\, pruners\, spades\, gloves\, etc.)\n\n\nBe sure to bring water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray\n\n\nWear long sleeves and sturdy shoes\n\n\nIf you have any questions leading up to the event\, feel free to contact Oxbow\, Inc. at 812-290-2941.
