Land Steward \nGeneral introduction to the Oxbow Nature Conservancy and education on the importance of wetlands. \nJune 17 | The First Farmers: The Adena Culture\nLed by ARI \nLearn about early plant use and the transition to farming during the Early Woodland period on a scenic walk along the trail. \nJuly 15 | Osprey Lake Scavenger Hunt\nLed by Oxbow Inc. \nFamily friendly hike through the Osprey Lake Trail (1.3 miles\, easy). This day we will have a scavenger hunt for families to participate in as we hike through this trail. \nAugust 19 | Ohio’s Ancient Civilization: The Hopewell Culture\nLed by ARI \nDiscover the remarkable world of the Hopewell people on this guided hike\, and learn how they used native plants during the Middle Woodland period. \nSeptember 16 | Birding for Beginners\nLed by Oxbow Inc. Board Member and Land Steward \nThis hike will occur during the peak of fall migration and will be a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about birding. \nOctober 21 | Abundance in Autumn: The Fort Ancient Culture\nLed by ARI \nEnjoy a scenic autumn walk while learning how the Fort Ancient people thrived using native plants during the Late Woodland period.
