Position:
Education Outreach Coordinator (grant-funded position for 2025-2026 school year)

About us:
Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub (the Hub) is a growing nonprofit looking to add to our team and expand our organizational capacity. Our mission is to revolutionize how people think about “things” and to provide a place where almost anything can be recycled or reused. We are a dedicated group of staff and volunteers who strive to mitigate the effects of climate change by increasing recycling, reuse, and landfill diversion rates in the greater Cincinnati area. About this position:
This is a grant funded position with a start date of July 2025 and a completion date of May 2026. The Education Outreach position will create and implement age-appropriate sustainability education with a goal of expanding school-based recycling collections. Outreach will focus on schools in low income communities across Greater Cincinnati and Northern KY. This position will implement an engaging and educational presentation on sustainability that can be tailored to different age groups. This position will also create and provide schools with a sustainability resource package to help with next steps. This position may present to school faculty as well as students.

Description:
The Outreach Education position will involve some independent work as well as collaborative work with CRRH staff.

Responsibilities:
● Outline and implement sustainability education, tailored for different school age children (with the assistance of the Off-Site Collections Coordinator and Education Volunteer)
● Public speaking for school faculty and students
● Create a sustainability resource package for schools at the end of the school year to continue on their sustainability journey
● Create an impact report of school outreach and its outcome
● Travel log of mileage

Hours: 20 hours per week. All hours will be at the Hub until the employee demonstrates the appropriate level of self-management to have the flexibility to work off-site, but they will still need to come into the Hub occasionally at that point. Please note that the Hub is a warehouse space that is kept to 62 degrees in the winter and there is no air conditioning in the summer (we do have industrial fans, though), so you will need to dress accordingly. Pay rate: Hourly: $15 per hour. Mileage reimbursed at nonprofit rate $0.14 per mile.

Off-Site Collections Coordinator

Coordinator Qualifications:
● Social work or education
● Summer camps or child recreation programs
● Comfort with public speaking
● Passion for sustainability
● Able to work independently
● Problem solving skills
● Flexibility to work in different work environments (warehouse setting, classroom setting, etc.)

Orientation and training provided:
● Shadow with Off-Site Collections Coordinator and Education Volunteer
● Shadow off-site presentations and CRRH facility tours
● Rumpke Waste & Recycling facility tour
