Job Title:
Director, Agraria Center for Regenerative Practice
Reports to: Board of Trustees, Arthur Morgan Institute for Community Solutions
FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

Position Summary
The Arthur Morgan Institute for Community Solutions seeks an experienced and visionary Director to lead the Agraria Center for Regenerative Practice. The Director serves as both the Executive Director of the Institute and Director of Operations for Agraria. This leadership role holds overall responsibility for administration, operations, and organizational effectiveness. The Director is empowered to oversee all facets of Agraria’s mission-driven work, including strategic implementation, fundraising, communications,
financial management, and program development, while reporting directly to the Board of Trustees.

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, mission-aligned leader with a passion for regenerative agriculture, ecological stewardship, and community empowerment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Implementation
• Guide the implementation of Agraria’s strategic plan in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.
• Work closely with the Board to set organizational priorities and assess outcomes.
• Provide visionary leadership to staff, volunteers, and partners.

Fundraising & Advancement
• Build sustainable revenue streams through a combination of major gifts, individual donations, foundation and corporate support, planned giving, and earned income strategies.
• Cultivate relationships with donors and funding partners.
• Oversee financial stewardship and collaborate on grant management and budgeting.

Financial Oversight
• Prepare and manage monthly financial reports and the annual budget for Board approval.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency in all financial operations.
• Serve on the finance committee; collaborate with the Board Treasurer to review monthly cash flow.
• Supervise accounting services and ensure timely IRS 990 filings.

Operations & Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the office and farm in partnership with staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Recruit, manage, and support staff and volunteers with a focus on collaboration and growth.
• Support regenerative agriculture activities on the farm in coordination with program partners.

Program Development
• Design and implement educational and skill-sharing programs that serve people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Foster community partnerships to deliver regenerative growing and land stewardship programs.
• Develop programmatic goals in collaboration with the Board and community stakeholders.

Communications & Community Engagement
• Serve as the public face of Agraria to raise regional and statewide visibility.
• Lead strategic communications, marketing, and public engagement efforts.
• Cultivate relationships with donors, community members, landowners, peer organizations, and policymakers.

Qualifications
• Proven success in nonprofit leadership, including significant fundraising, financial oversight, and staff management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and public speaking.
• Experience working with diverse communities and cultivating culturally inclusive partnerships.
• Deep commitment to Agraria’s mission and regenerative land practices.
• Ability to inspire and manage a collaborative team of staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve independently.
• Experience working with Boards of Directors and governance processes.

Compensation
Salary and benefits are negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location & Working Conditions

This role is based at the Agraria office and farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with regional
travel required for meetings, public events, and program delivery.
Work occurs both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Evening and
weekend hours are occasionally required.
