SUMMARY:Full Moon Hike: Skunk Moon at Rowe Woods
DESCRIPTION:ecommended Audience: This program is designed for adults and children 12+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. \nProgram Description: Witness the night’s magic transform the trails as we marvel at the full moon and reveal natural history happenings on this quiet\, guided hike. Full Moon Walks provide rare opportunities to hike Cincinnati Nature Center trails when we’re normally closed. \nWhile each Full Moon Walk varies\, we generally stop periodically for natural history moments\, special readings\, or simply to admire the shadows cast by the full moon. As it’s nighttime\, the pace is slower. Leaders adjust the walking speed based on their group. \nWhat to Expect: On a Full Moon Walk\, you’ll take a 1-to-1.5-mile leisurely walk on a trail. \nWe avoid steps and stream crossings for safety.\nThe trails may be muddy during wetter times of the year\, but we’ll do our best to keep you dry.\nFor more information\, please see how to prepare for a night hike.\nNote: Please arrive promptly for the walk’s start time. Gatehouse only remains open for 15 minutes after program start time. \nWhere to Meet: Registered participants will meet at the PlayScape Parking Lot at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd.\, Milford\, OH 45150). \nPricing: Ticket fees include daily admission.

SUMMARY:Meet A Greenspace Hike at Brushy Fork Nature Preserve!
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED DUE TO TRAIL CONDITIONS!!! \n________________________________ \nJoin Green Umbrella’s Greenspace Alliance and the Banklick Watershed Council for a Meet A Greenspace Hike on Friday\, February 20th\, from 3-4:30 pm at Brushy Fork Nature Preserve! \nThe 43-acre property was initially purchased by the Banklick Watershed Council and transferred to the Kenton Conservancy in August 2014. It is a prime example of the importance of urban conservation for flooding reduction and watershed protection. \nThe hike will be a moderate to strenuous 1.5 miles (due to steep hills and slippery slopes). Please dress appropriately\, bring water\, and snacks (if you need them). \nParking is available at Brushy Fork\, located at 10463 Canberra Dr.\, Independence\, Kentucky\, 41051. Simply pull down the gravel driveway and you will find a parking lot behind the houses. If parking is full\, you may park on the street — ensuring that you do not block resident’s driveways.  \nIf you have any questions\, contact Greenspace Alliance Manager Claire Carlson at claire@greenumbrella.org. \nThe Greenspace Alliance would also like to thank its sponsors\, Duke Energy and the Cincinnati Wildflower Preservation Society\, for making these events possible.

SUMMARY:Maple Date Night
DESCRIPTION:Registration Requirements: Preregistration required for all participants. \nIntended Audience: This is a program designed for adult couples (21 and up). ID required. \nProgram Description: Love is in the maple-scented air at Rowe Woods! During this maple tasting experience\, we’ll tap into how people’s love for maple syrup has changed through time. Sip maple cocktails while watching a cooking demonstration and exploring present day gourmet “not just for pancakes” uses for maple syrup. \nWhat to Expect: Light maple-themed appetizers and drinks will be offered at this program. While we cannot promise to accommodate every food allergy or dietary restriction\, we’ll certainly try our best. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction that you would like our staff to know about\, please email Jason Neumann at jneumann@cincynature.org no later than Thursday\, February 12\, at 5 pm. \nThis program is mostly outdoors\, but we’ll adjust for colder temperatures by ducking into heated spaces during the program.\nRestrooms are available only at the start and end of the program\, as we will be out on the trails during the program.\nTrails/areas used during this program are rated as accessible (packed gravel trails\, mild hills) for a planned distance of 0.5-0.75 miles at a slow pace.\nProgram runs rain or shine.\nAs with all of our events and programs\, pets are not permitted. \nWhat to Wear: Dress for the weather and to be outdoors the entire time\, with possible muddy conditions. \nWhere to Meet: Registered participants will meet at the Krippendorf Lodge at our Rowe Woods location.
