SUMMARY:Guided Tour of Rumpke & Recycling Facility
DESCRIPTION:The Education/Lifestyles Working Group of Faith Communities Go Green invites you to register for an in-person Guided Tour of Rumpke & Recycling Facility \nDate: September 30\, 2026\nTime: 9am -10:30 am (arrive by 8:45am)\nLocation: 5535 Vine Street\, Cincinnati\, Ohio 45217 (St. Bernard) \nAs part of our efforts to educate and inspire our community members to change their lifestyles one baby step at a time\, to live in harmony with nature\, FCGG has organized this tour to educate us on how much waste we create\, and even if we throw things for recycling\, so much effort and energy goes into this material waste recovery process.  We hope that the tour inspires us not only to recycle everything we can responsibly\, but even better than that\, consider reducing our consumption and changing our buying habits\, so we produce as little recyclable waste as possible. \nRecyclable material is sorted at Rumpke’s Cincinnati Material Recovery Facility (MRF).  It is one of the largest residential recycling plants in North America and serves 4.5 million people with the capacity of processing at least 55 tons of recycling per hour. The tour includes a short video\, a review of items acceptable for recycling and a walking tour of the plant to show how the recyclable materials are sorted. Tours last approximately 60-90 minutes.  Tour participants must be at least thirteen years of age. \nPlease REGISTER to RSVP. The tour capacity is only 20 people so register as soon as you can.  For everyone beyond the first 20 registrations\, we will organize another tour for you at a later date\, so please still fill out this form so we know you are interested in going for this tour\, and we will get in touch with you with another date.
