DESCRIPTION:Bring the family and join us for a holiday hike along the Turkey Trace trail at Clingman Park! This trail features a board walk through old growth beech forest\, fields\, a creek\, and is frequented by wild turkeys. Guided by a naturalist\, you will learn about native plants\, birds\, and wildlife we encounter as we hike. \nThis trail is one of the longest at Clingman. We will hike about 2 miles in total on natural trail surfaces with hills and a small stream crossing.

DESCRIPTION:RAPTOR Inc’s facilities are open to the public during our Open House Events and by appointment only. On the last Sunday of each month (March-November) from 1pm to 4pm our highly skilled educators will be available to welcome guests\, lead tours\, conduct educational programs with our avian ambassadors\, share biological artifacts\, and answer questions. You will have the opportunity to visit various educational stations where you can see and learn about the birds of prey native to our area and the work that RAPTOR Inc. does to protect these magnificent creatures. The Open Houses are FUN and FREE\, but DONATIONS are greatly appreciated! (Private tours and educational programs can still be scheduled at other times by appointment for a fee.)

DESCRIPTION:Give back to nature while spending time outdoors at one of our habitat restoration volunteer events. Open to both new and returning volunteers\, these hands-on workdays offer a great opportunity to explore our local nature preserves\, connect with the community\, and make a meaningful impact. Volunteers may help remove invasive plants\, maintain trails\, install signage\, or clean up litter. During some events\, we may also conduct our yearly preserve inspections\, giving volunteers a behind-the-scenes look at how we care for and maintain the land we protect. All tools and guidance are provided\, and no prior experience is necessary.
