DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED DUE TO TRAIL CONDITIONS \nJoin Green Umbrella’s Greenspace Alliance\, Cardinal Land Conservancy\, and the Center for Collaboration on Climate and Community for Health (C4H) at Cardinal’s Westmark Woods\, for a Meet A Greenspace Hike on Thursday\, August 13th from 8-9:30 am! \nLocated in Springfield Township\, Westmark Woods is a 25 acre-property and the newest addition to Cardinal’s preserves. The West Fork of the Mill Creek flows through the preserve on the way to Great Park’s Winton Woods. \nThe Center for Collaboration on Climate and Community for Health\, also known as C4H\, is a center at the University of Cincinnati. Founded in 2024\, C4H is among an elite group of 21 centers nationwide with a specific focus on climate-related exposures and the impacts to human health.\n\nThis Meet A Greenspace Hike will be a unique opportunity to explore an urban greenspace alongside an organization working to preserve our natural spaces\, as well as scientists who are working to understand and reduce the impacts of climate exposures on the community.\nThe hike will be an easy to moderate 0.9 miles in length over dirt paths and two bridges and will be guided by staff from Cardinal.  \nPlease dress accordingly\, wear proper shoes for hiking\, and bring plenty of water! We will meet at the park entrance. The Park is located at 872 Compton Rd.\, Cincinnati\, OH 45231. Join us for the Give a Hoot for Oxbow – Invasive Plant Removal on Saturday\, August 15\, from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM\n\nDuring these volunteer days\, we will be tackling one of our biggest conservation challenges: invasive plant species. Events will focus on cutting/pulling honeysuckle\, Japanese chaff flower\, Japanese stiltgrass\, and garlic mustard- all of which will later be replaced with native plants\, with a focus on improving wood duck habitat! SUMMARY:A Day at the Lake
DESCRIPTION:Join Sierra Club for a fun family day at Lake Cowan. We meet at the state park beach on the South Shore of Lake Cowan off of Yankee Rd. (not the campground beach) at 11 AM. Bring a boat or you are welcome to try out one of ours. We will have at least one small sailboat\, a couple of kayaks\, a few paddle boards and canoes to lend. We will also have PFD’s to lend. DESCRIPTION:Organized by Tri-State Trails and presented by Great Parks\, the Tour de CROWN is a community bike ride open to riders of all abilities. The event showcases existing and future trails throughout the expanding Cincinnati Riding or Walking Network (CROWN). \nOver the past three years\, hundreds of riders have experienced the growing CROWN firsthand\, pedaling through newly completed trail segments\, discovering connections between neighborhoods they didn’t know existed\, and helping build momentum for a more connected Cincinnati. \nRiders choose from three distance options\, all starting and ending at Fifty West Brewing Company\, located just off the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Each route features rest stops and rider support. \nYour registration includes a post-ride beverage (beer\, soda\, or milkshake)\, a delicious burger (veggie burgers included!) from Fifty West Brewing Company\, and the lively Tour de CROWN Trail Expo! \nBest of all: Proceeds support Tri-State Trails’ advocacy for a more connected regional trail and bikeway network.

DESCRIPTION:RAPTOR Inc’s facilities are open to the public during our Open House Events and by appointment only. On the last Sunday of each month (March-November) from 1pm to 4pm our highly skilled educators will be available to welcome guests\, lead tours\, conduct educational programs with our avian ambassadors\, share biological artifacts\, and answer questions. You will have the opportunity to visit various educational stations where you can see and learn about the birds of prey native to our area and the work that RAPTOR Inc. does to protect these magnificent creatures. The Open Houses are FUN and FREE\, but DONATIONS are greatly appreciated! (Private tours and educational programs can still be scheduled at other times by appointment for a fee.)
