Join Taking Root on Thursday, December 16th for our third annual Professionals' Seminar.
We are very excited to have Dr. Grant Domke, USDA Forest Service as a keynote this year! Dr. Domke is a Research Forester with leadership responsibilities for forest carbon estimation and reporting within the Forest Inventory and Analysis program of the USDA Forest Service. In 2020, Dr. Domke lead research on the potential increase to carbon sequestration with tree planting. His current work is considering species adaptation and informing on the greenhouse gas emissions and removals in the forest land category as part of the United States' commitment to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. He also has expertise with strategic-level forest inventory data to develop models that estimate carbon stocks and stock changes in forest ecosystem carbon pools
Forest ecosystems represent the largest terrestrial carbon sink on earth. Dr. Domke will share his expertise of forest carbon dynamics to apply to our local and regional work and inform our policy and management decisions ISA, ASLA, and AICP continuing education credits will be submitted.
This year's seminar will be a hybrid. The event will be in the OKI Board Room, 720 E. Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. We encourage you to attend in person, but will also be providing a live virtual option, so you can enjoy all of the presentations in real time from your desktop with opportunity to engage with all of our presenters. The educational program will begin at 9AM and conclude at 4:30PM with a happy hour event until 6:30PM
