Watershed Action Team Tours the Cincinnati Zoo

  • October 07, 2016
  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, 3400 Vine St, Cincinnati, OH 45220
NEW LOCATION: This month's Team meeting will be a field trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. See below for more information.

The Water team brings together representatives from non-profits, businesses, educational institutions and governmental entities working to improve water quality and watershed management in our region. The meetings are the first Friday of every month, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Join the GU Watershed Team as we tour the Greenest Zoo in America for a look into its impactful and powerful water conservation strategies. They're reduced water consumption by 78% saving over 1 billion gallons of water over 10 years. Experience the actual implementation of the best management practices that we usually just read about: green roods, pervious pavers, rain gardens, bio-stales, rain barrels, pervious concrete, and tank collection and reuse.

The tour is on 10/7/16 at 9:00 at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens for an exclusive tour highlighted by the new Hippo exhibit. The Zoo is offering this tour to Green Umbrella members free of charge. Be prepared to walk, and be ready for the weather - rain or shine. The tour lasts about 2 hours.

Limited to first 25 members. Register now or miss out.
