    Organization: Cincinnati Parks

Cincinnati Parks Explore Nature! Summer Day Camps are for children ages 3 – 14 years old. These camps are so fun they keep families coming back year after year and were voted Best Nature Day Camps 4 years in a row! Featuring daily hikes, games, live animal encounters, experiments and and more, campers are active all day.

Each summer, Explore Nature enlists the invaluable assistance of volunteers to serve in the Counselors-In-Training Program. Designed for teens, it’s an awesome opportunity to learn new skills in a fun, safe environment. Our Counselors-In-Training (CIT) assist group leaders during games, give guidance during crafts time, and provide an additional watchful eye during hikes and other engaging activities. A CIT may also be paired as a “buddy” with a special needs child who requires more personal attention during camp activities. This volunteer opportunity is a great chance for teens to become engaged in their community and build their leadership skills.

    • Must be at least 13 years old
    • Complete the application process
    • Send one personal reference email
    • Show respect for the environment, enjoy being outdoors in all weather conditions and have a desire to interact with children
    • One week long commitment, every day of the week, for half-day or full day camps. Half-day (9:30 – 11:30 or 9:30 – 1:30) Full-day (9:00 – 3:30)

Organization: Friends of the Little Miami State Park

Probably more of us use the trail near Oregonia than live in Oregonia, so we need volunteers willing to go the few extra miles! Can you help clear culverts and ditches, and pick up berm debris? We’ll go out once a week or so for a few weeks.

Please contact trailmail@flmsp.org to learn more!

With hundreds of trees and shrubs to plant, there is no better way to enjoy the outdoors and spend some time with friends who have a similar goal: to help save the tree canopy along the Little Miami State Park. No experience necessary!

Contact the appropriately named Rick Forrester if you'd like to join us.

More than 8,000 volunteers (Grunts) are needed to make the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon special and to help make the Pig “fly”. Many of our volunteers are associated with charity groups while others are individuals. Volunteers play a significant role in the success of our event and it would not be possible without them.

Spring is tree-planting time and volunteers are needed for the last two weeks in April and first week of May. With hundreds of trees and shrubs to plant, there is no better way to get outside, enjoy nature, and spent time with friends with similar goals to save the environment. No experience is necessary. For more information on helping in this important program, contact Rick Forrester at Forrester.RJ54@gmail.com

    Organization: Greater Cincinnati Earth Coalition

We are in need of individuals to help with the Greater Cincinnati Earth Day! The event runs from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 27. We need individuals to help set up vendor booths before the event starts (9:00 am), individuals to help run specific booths during the event, and to help tear down the event after 5:00 pm.

Please bring your own water bottle, as we will be providing water bottle filling stations. With our effort to cut down on waste for our event, we are encouraging volunteers to bring their own reusable cups/bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day.
