Kingswood Park habitat restoration

Join us as we remove harmful invasive honeysuckle and callery pear. Volunteers will hand saw/trim small plants and trees and help drag them to the chipper area. Volunteers should be prepared for the weather in durable, layered clothing, long pants, long sleeves, hat, sunglasses and work gloves. Please wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Directions: Please park in the pavilion lot, follow the bike path across Innovation Way and follow the arrows to the work site.

Alms Park habitat restoration

October 22, 2022 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Work with Cincinnati Parks staff and members of the Alms Park Advisory Council (Alms Park Allies) to remove invasive species in an effort to restore our native forest understory. Volunteers will use hand saws and loppers to cut Amur honeysuckle bushes and porcelain Vine. Volunteers will also work behind chainsaw operators to drag cut honeysuckle to a chipper or to lay on the forest floor.

Volunteers should be prepared with clothing appropriate for the weather. Face covering, gloves and a refillable water bottle are suggested. Parks will supply tools and equipment, but if you prefer to use your own hand tool, please bring it! Summit Park Habitat Restoration

Join us as we remove harmful invasive plants from Summit Park’s natural areas!

Volunteers should expect to hand saw, trim, or pull trees, small plants, and/or vines and help drag them to the chipper area. Be prepared for the weather in durable, layered clothing, long pants, long sleeves, hat, sunglasses and work gloves. Please wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Volunteers under 18 years of age are required to bring additional forms which can be obtained via email registration.
