Henry Simanson- Xavier University
Herbert Henry Simanson is originally from Washington DC and later lived in Memphis, TN. He is a graduate student at Xavier University completing his Masters of Arts in Urban Sustainability and Resilience. He anticipates graduating in May of 2017. Henry spent a summer working in an olive grove and vegetable garden in the Puglia region of Italy through WWOOF (World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). He maintained a vegetable garden and olive trees and currently operates his own urban garden in his backyard. He has been studying topics related to sustainability and food systems throughout his undergraduate and graduate career. Henry enjoys backpacking, kayaking, cooking, urban gardening, green urbanism, and of course, eating local. Henry loves being active and outside no matter what he is doing.
