About the Position:
Engage and coach stakeholders to achieve short- and long-term sustainability objectives and public commitments. Manage sustainability data collection and analytics on multiple topics, including carbon emissions reduction, packaging, and deforestation; program and project management; and ESG reporting and disclosure. Essential Job Functions
Manage efforts to fulfill Kroger's ESG Strategy: Thriving Together and Zero Hunger | Zero Waste environmental and social impact plan to advance positive impacts for people and our planet
Continually improve sustainability performance across the company by working with lines of business and corporate functions
Partner with stakeholders to continually improve data accuracy and integrity; gather and synthesize data to inform program management and decision-making; and develop recommendations for improving performance and positive impact
Demonstrate familiarity with current sustainability reporting frameworks and emerging disclosure trends to support ESG reporting
Research and monitor changes to relevant environmental policy and legislation to inform topic roadmaps
Lead program and project management with cross-functional teams on topics such as packaging, climate, and waste
Collaborate with retail division leaders on local and regional sustainability topics as needed
Provide project and program support to increase associate and customer engagement to improve sustainability and social impact

Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in sustainability (public or private)
- Demonstrated skills in data management, analytics, and project management
- Ability to plan/prioritize a variety of tasks and adapt efficiently to changing priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
- Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
- Strong attention to detail
Desired Previous Experience/Education
- Master's Degree in relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability
- Any experience in climate change, packaging and plastics, or responsible sourcing
- Sustainable finance or business background
Education Level: Master's Desired
