Dayton Energy Collaborative is a non-profit whose mission is to create sustainable energy programming and collaborate with neighborhoods to advance community resiliency and wellbeing.

Started in 2012 as CleanEnergy4All, the organization has provided energy knowledge and programming to support low-income neighborhoods. Dayton Energy Collaborative is committed to working with partner organizations and community members to meet the needs of the community and build a sustainable future.

Main Purpose of the Executive Director:

The Executive Director’s primary responsibility is to provide visionary leadership for Dayton Energy Collaborative and oversee all affairs related to its mission. The Executive Director works with staff to accomplish the objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors and outlined in the Strategic Plan. This includes supporting and regularly meeting with staff to plan, direct, and implement Dayton Energy Collaborative's programs and activities. Additionally, they work to ensure that the organization remains financially sustainable. The Executive Director works to build and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations around the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Mission, Vision, and Strategic Goals

  • Upholds and promotes the Beliefs, Goals, Values, and Strategies of Dayton Energy Collaborative in all decisions, plans, relationships, and actions
  • Develops long-range strategies, short-term goals, and appropriate timelines for achieving and maintaining Dayton Energy Collaborative’s mission Leadership
  • Creates an organizational environment and structure that fosters personal and professional development and effective communication among all members.
  • Ensures that the operations of Dayton Energy Collaborative are carried out in accordance with the bylaws and policies of Dayton Energy Collaborative as set by the Board of Directors. Ensures that the operations of Dayton Energy Collaborative are in compliance with the organization’s status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization under US federal law.

Development and Fundraising

  • Responsible for the sound fiscal management of Dayton Energy Collaborative
  • Works to identify sources of funding for Dayton Energy Collaborative’s general operations and specific programs

External Relationships

  • Serves as primary spokesperson for Dayton Energy Collaborative in marketing, public relations, and outreach activities.
  • Effectively communicates with allied organizations, associated agencies, government bodies, and community in general to promote positive and productive relationships in furtherance of Dayton Energy Collaborative’s mission and vision.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant education
  • Experience working in a non-profit
  • Experience working on energy projects
  • Experience performing building assessments
  • Demonstrated familiarity with and interest in affordable housing and community development
  • Strong organizational skills, including good attention to detail and follow through necessary
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multi-project workload
  • Understanding of local community and ability to work within diverse communities
  • Bilingual is a plus

Salary Range:

The salary range is $60,000 - $70,000.
