Farm Assistant Position

Thriving Earth Farms is dedicated to regenerative farming with the aim of providing real and nutritious food to people.

Job Overview:

Thriving Earth Farms is hiring a farming assistant to support the lead farmer to service the CSA program. This position will include supporting all aspects involved in a market garden farm operation. The duties include planting, weeding, harvesting, watering, packaging and development of farm operations. The farm is located at Ohio’s first agicommunities - Aberlin Springs, and our primary goal on the farm is to support all of its community members through the CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture). This position is full time until December 1st and 16-24 hours through the winter season.


Working under the direction of the lead farmer to support the success of our market garden production and CSA program, assist with management of Volunteers and Volunteer Groups and assist with care of animals. Thriving Earth Farms is located at Ohio’s first agri-community, Aberlin Springs. Our goal is to continue to support and contribute to a local, thriving food system and ecology.


Starting $14-$16/ hr.

Seasonally adjusted hours

Responsibilities and Duties:

● Harvesting

● Planting

● Irrigating

● Packaging for sales

● Farm infrastructure development


● High school diploma/GED

● A minimum of 1 yr relevant work experience

● Good communication skills and positive attitude

● Passion for sustainability and regenerative farming

Specific skills:

● Time management

● Mechanically inclined is a plus

● Familiar with outdoor hand tools (eg. shovels, pruners, wheelbarrows, etc.)

Personal characteristics:

● Able to work alone and with others

● Long term interest in developing an agriculture career

● Good work ethic

● Routine oriented

Physical abilities:

● Must be comfortable working outside in various conditions

● Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

● Must be able to carry out daily physical motion activities like squatting, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.


● Possesses a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
