Green Umbrella seeks neighborhood representative to coordinate the Greater Cincinnati  Regional Food Policy Council’s partnerships with residents and organizations in the  neighborhoods. One person will be hired from Lower or East Price Hill and one person will  be hired from Avondale or Walnut Hills. The connector will attend neighborhood meetings  on behalf of the organization, attend organizational meetings to provide info and feedback  from the neighborhood to the GCRFPC, and assist in organizing connections and meetings  between residents and the Council as needed.  

This part-time position is expected to take 10-12 hours per week and reports to the Director  of the Greater Cincinnati Regional Food Policy Council (FPC). The position will mostly  require meetings in the neighborhood, with some on-line meetings and in-person meetings  in other neighborhoods. Meetings will be day-time and evening. Cost of travel to meetings  will be covered by Green Umbrella.  


Attend community council meetings and 1-2 other community events per month to  talk with neighbors about issues of food access and quality, gathering feedback on  strategy of FPC’s work 

Provide notes to FPC on meetings attended, info learned 

Attend FPC leadership team meetings, one-on-one strategy sessions with Lauren and  Michaela (bi-weekly), coaching calls (monthly), and help set agendas for community  members to meet with organizational partners 

Arrange meetings and invite neighbors and organizations for FPC to connect directly  with residents as needed 

Assist in collecting and reporting stories for FPC Food Systems Stories page Advocate on behalf of neighbors to organizational partners on their equity and  inclusion processes 

Qualifications sought 

Current or past residence in Lower or East Price Hill or other demonstrated  connection to the neighborhood such as school, employment, family connections or  faith community. For instance, you regularly live, work, pray or play in the  neighborhood.  

Demonstrated passion for community-driven improvement  

Enthusiasm for health and wellbeing of self and neighbors 

Flexible schedule 


$25/hour, including travel time to meetings outside of neighborhood

Travel costs to meetings outside of neighborhoods 

Providing equipment necessary to be able to perform duties can be negotiated
