Organization: Green Umbrella
Green Umbrella is seeking a policy intern to work approximately 15-20 hours per week on its Policy Impact Area starting June through August 2021. The Policy Intern will work closely with the Climate Policy Lead to assist with research, program development, and communications. This is a paid internship.

About the Position:
This internship with Green Umbrella provides a chance to learn more about both the nonprofit sector and environmental sustainability efforts within the Greater Cincinnati region, with a specific focus on local government and policy. The compensation for this internship is $12/hour. We are open to partnering with your university cost-sharing program if applicable. Interns will work on average of 15-20 hours per week. The intern will work with our team virtually.
Green Umbrella is seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and enthusiastic undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate with a passion for sustainability, equity, and resilience. The position requires basic knowledge of climate issues; familiarity with local government; a strong work ethic; excel data management skills; perseverance to solve problems; and diligent attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable working independently as well as with a supervisor.
Research relevant local, state, and federal climate policy news and program opportunities
Support strategy, development, and review of policy communications such as newsletters, webpages, and social media
Work with local and regional partners to develop local government case studies
Support strategy, communications, and implementation of policy events done in partnership with local to national organizations
