About Green Umbrellaโs Climate Fellowship:ย
The program leads city, town, township, and county governments through creating climate action plans and/or implementing mitigation/adaptation strategies. Governments join a cohort of peers, and each jurisdiction receives one-on-one guidance, attends cohort training webinars hosted by Green Umbrella and partners, and hosts a 10-week summer fellow.
The fellowship summer 2025 term will run from approximately June to August 2025 with a training in late-May. Fellows will work 40 hours/week.
Eligibility:
- City, County, Town, or Township government based in Greater Cincinnati (Green Umbrella's 10-county area: Boone County KY, Butler Co OH, Campbell Co KY, Clermont Co OH, Dearborn Co IN, Franklin Co IN, Grant Co KY, Hamilton Co OH, Kenton Co KY, Warren Co OH)

Please ensure your membership is up to date and submit your application to host a fellow by completing the form below by April 30, 2025. Expect to hear back from a member of the Green Umbrella team by May 2, 2025.
We specifically encourage applications from underserved communities.
Fellowship Activities:
- Receive training on technical skills, policy, and public sector and community engagement
- Work direct capacity to help kickstart or accelerate your climate action efforts
- Complete project modules related to planning, energy, greenspace, and more

- May 2, 2025 - Notification of Placements
- May 28-30, 2025 - Fellowship Training
- June 2-August 8, 2025 - Fellowship Term
- August 20, 2025 - Fellowship Showcase
Cost of fellowship if selected (valued at $15,000):
- Leading Members: $0
- Supporting Members: $2,500
- Participating Members: $4,000
