Pledge below to shift 10% of your food budget to purchase local food. For the average household, a 10% shift means spending only $13 a week on local food.
Why Eat Local?
1. Supports Local Farmers
Local farmers are more likely to be concerned for the long-term health of their fields and flocks, insuring that food can be produced on their land for generations to come.
2. Tastes Better
4. Builds Local Economy
Dollars spent on local food circulate back through our local economy. If 10% of the regional population shifts 10% of their food dollars to local food, it will result in over $56,000,000 infused into the local economy!
5. Preserves Open Space
Supporting local food production insures that local farms remain vibrant green spaces.
